The frontal lobe is the largest of the four lobes of the cerebral cortex, and it is split into two hemispheres. It accounts for two thirds of the human brain. Damage to the frontal lobe can cause changes in personality, difficulty with impulse control, or poor coordination.
FunctionsThe frontal lobe is responsible for planning, decision-making, classifying objects, and personality. It also works with other regions of the brain to mediate motor skills, memory formation, and speech production.

3D Model: Activity in Frontal
In the 3D model on the right, you can see patterns of activity in the frontal lobe of the brain. The blue flashes are groups of neurons firing during brain activity. Feel free to explore other regions with the interactive model as well.
